Why moisture and dry matter content are important?
Moisture and dry matter content largely determine the quality and applicability of a material. Consider, for example, stability, processability and performance in practice.
By determining these values accurately, you avoid deviations in your process and make better informed choices. At Normec we carry out this test according to the NEN-EN 1097-5 standard, so you can rely on reliable and comparable results.
How we measure it accurately
During the analysis, we remove moisture from the material through controlled heating. Once all the moisture has evaporated, we determine the dry matter content.
The measurement consists of the following steps:
- Weighing the moist material
- Drying of the material at 110 °C
- Weighing the dry material again
By the difference between the two measurements, we calculate the exact moisture and dry matter content.
