Sustainability Improvements: Sample Containers

At i2, we constantly strive to improve our services while reducing our environmental impact. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are proud to announce a strategic shift in our packaging approach that benefits the environment while ensuring the integrity of the sample.

Sustainability improvements: sample packaging

We understand how important it is to minimize waste, reduce CO₂ emissions from transportation, decrease the amount of raw materials used in a product, and optimize storage space. With this in mind, we will be reducing the size of our two glass bottom jars. This transition offers several key benefits:

Smaller carbon footprint: By using smaller jars, a larger quantity of product can be shipped to i2 per shipment, reducing the number of deliveries required and the total shipping weight. This leads to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions from transportation.
Less waste: Less waste from samples because smaller sample quantities are submitted.
Optimized storage space: Switching to smaller jars allows for more effective use of storage space both at i2 and at your location(s), thereby limiting potential supply issues in the market and ensuring the availability of raw materials.
Guaranteed analysis quality: Rest assured, the transition to smaller vials does not compromise the quality or reliability of our services. Our team has thoroughly tested and verified that the new packaging preserves the integrity of the samples and meets our strict quality standards.

In July 2024, we will introduce the new 30-g and 60-g containers. You can continue to use any remaining 60-g and 250-g containers you have on hand. The plastic containers remain mandatory for asbestos, inorganic substances, leachate, PSDs, etc.
