On 30 April 2025, Normec OWS welcomed first-year chemistry students from Odisee for an educational visit focused on environmental sciences in practice.
During the session, students were introduced to the fundamentals of biodegradation, composting, and ecotoxicity testing, gaining insight into how materials are evaluated for their environmental impact. The visit demonstrated how laboratory science directly supports sustainability goals, regulatory compliance, and responsible product development.
Beyond technical knowledge, the programme highlighted potential career paths within environmental sciences, showcasing roles in laboratory research, sustainability consulting, and regulatory testing. By connecting theory with real-world applications, students gained a clearer understanding of how their studies translate into impactful professional opportunities.
