Normec OWS is accredited by BELAC in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the overall laboratory operation, including our biodegradation, compostability and ecotoxicity studies, and specific activities related to compost, fertilisers, soil improvers and manure testing. In addition, Normec OWS is accredited to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for inspection activities, including the validation of data and verification of legal compliance for WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Normec OWS is also recognised by all major certification bodies for biodegradable and compostable materials, including TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium and DIN CERTCO in Europe, BPI in the US, and several other certification bodies in Asia, including Japan, Korea and Australia. This enables customers to obtain certification using a single set of Normec OWS test reports, without the need for additional testing at other laboratories.
