About the POLYMEER project

Over the next four years, the POLYMEER project will develop advanced bioplastics designed for applications in agriculture, the automotive industry, textiles, and industrial packaging. By reusing brewer’s grains, this initiative supports a circular, bio-based economy and promotes sustainability across multiple sectors.

Our Role in the Project

Steven Verstichel, our department manager at BCDE (Biodegradation, Composting, Disintegration, Environmental Safety), will lead Normec OWS’s efforts in this groundbreaking project. We are proud to collaborate with 14 partners from 8 countries, who are collectively driving innovation and sustainability.

The project officially kicked off in Perugia, Italy, and marks the start of an exciting journey toward creating sustainable, bio-based alternatives to conventional plastics.
