Normec OWS Supports Circular Transition Through CbDP

On 24 July 2025, Normec OWS reaffirmed its long-standing support for the Compostable by Design Platform since the platform’s inception. Through CbDP, Normec OWS collaborates with stakeholders across the full value chain, including material developers, brands, waste operators and policymakers. The goal is to accelerate the development and responsible implementation of compostable solutions that function effectively within existing organic waste systems. The platform promotes alignment between innovation, harmonised standards and available infrastructure. Ensuring that compostable materials meet clear biodegradability and compostability criteria is essential for maintaining quality compost streams and avoiding contamination. By contributing its scientific expertise in testing and validation, Normec OWS supports Europe’s transition toward a circular economy, where materials are designed with their end-of-life pathway in mind from the very beginning.
