A Special Visit to Our U.S. Lab: Strengthening Global Connections
In early March, Normec OWS Commercial Manager Sil Nevejans and Managing Director Gunther Van Cauwenberge traveled to the United States for a visit focused on strengthening internal collaboration and reinforcing client relationships. The trip began with a stop at our U.S. laboratory in Kettering, Ohio, followed by customer visits and participation in the Sustainability in Packaging 2025 conference in Chicago.
At the Kettering lab, Sil and Gunther met with Christopher Ecker, Managing Director of the Ohio lab, and Amie Greene, who have been instrumental in establishing and growing our U.S. testing capabilities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to align on strategy, exchange insights, and explore new ways to support our customers in North America through high-quality biodegradability and compostability testing.
Reflecting on the visit, Gunther shared: "It was great to meet the colleagues in person and to discuss and exchange many new ideas to further serve and support our customers. Such an enthusiastic team and full of energy, under the leadership of Chris. Happy with such a great team!"
Following the lab visit, Sil continued to Chicago, where she attended the Sustainability in Packaging 2025 conference, held from March 5 to 7. In addition to participating in the event, she visited the headquarters of several key accounts and met with customers to strengthen ongoing collaborations and explore new opportunities.
This U.S. visit reflects Normec OWS's ongoing commitment to international cooperation, customer engagement, and driving progress in sustainable innovation. By staying connected to both our global teams and our customers, we continue to deliver science-based solutions that support the transition toward a circular economy.
