For reliable project delivery
The quality and service life of an asphalt road are largely determined by the composition of the asphalt and the correct execution of the various asphalt layers. A properly constructed structure prevents premature damage, increases road safety and contributes to a longer life of the road.
With a completion inspection you check whether the asphalt construction meets the contractual requirements and the applicable RAW specifications.
Checking quality and requirements
During and after completion of the asphalt work, we assess whether the construction meets the specified requirements. Among other things, we look at the composition of the asphalt, compaction, air content and layer thicknesses.
By independently checking these aspects, you gain insight into the actual quality of the work carried out and avoid discussions during delivery.
An asphalt construction consists of several layers, each fulfilling its own function.
Certainty about each asphalt layer
-
1.
Carpet pad
The carpet pad forms the basis of the construction and must be able to withstand fatigue loads caused by traffic. In addition, this layer must be able to absorb any settlements without cracking.
-
2.
Binding layer
The binding layer connects the carpet pad with the covering layer. This layer provides a stable transition between the two structural parts and plays an important role in limiting rutting.
-
3.
Overlay
The top layer is continuously exposed to traffic, weather and wear. The quality of this top layer determines the safety, driving comfort and service life of the road.
-
4.
